Recording at Sun Studio in Memphis, TN.
Billy started writing this CD two years ago, but the real story starts just like a Hollywood blockbuster with four friends taking a road trip to Memphis, Tennessee, to record at the legendary Sun Studio.
This landmark studio is arguably the birthplace of rock & roll, launching household names like Johnny Cash, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and U2's Rattle and Hum . . . So you can imagine Billy's excitement when the tape began to roll.
In the good company of friends—Moe O'Shaughnessy (drummer of the widely known Midwest band Salem Witchcraft), Moe's son Jake (up and coming drummer in his own right), Charlie Allen Martin (original drummer for Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band, most notably on Live Silver Bullet), and good friend Henry H-Bomb Weck (drummer for Brownsville Station with the big hit "Smokin' in the Boys Room" and music producer for southern rock & roll gold and platinum recording artist Blackfoot for albums Strikes and Marauder)—needless to say, they came out of Sun Studio with some smokin' drum tracks and finished the recording in Detroit studios.
Sit back and listen as this CD covers the full spectrum of emotions from hard hitting country to warm, touching acoustic songs that demonstrate a “folkrockcountry” sound that can only be described as original. |
